Founded in 2019 by Maya Chen, a RYT-500 certified yoga instructor and professionally trained chef, Yoga Dining Club was born from a simple observation: the mindfulness we cultivate on the mat rarely follows us to the dinner table. Maya set out to change that by creating immersive events where every bite is as intentional as every breath.

What started as a small supper club of twelve friends in a Silver Lake backyard has grown into one of Los Angeles' most beloved wellness communities. We partner with local organic farms, source seasonal ingredients from the Santa Monica Farmers Market, and design every menu to complement the yoga practice that precedes it.

Our mission is straightforward: help people slow down, connect with their food, and build real relationships around a shared table. No phones, no rush, no pretense -- just honest movement, honest food, and honest conversation.

New to the concept of yoga dining? These are the questions we hear most often from first-time guests.

A yoga dining experience is an immersive event that combines a guided yoga session with a multi-course, plant-forward meal. Each event typically begins with 60 to 75 minutes of yoga tailored to the theme of the evening, followed by a communal meal prepared with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The yoga sequences are designed to stimulate digestion, cultivate mindfulness, and prepare the body to receive nourishment with intention. Think of it as a complete sensory journey that bridges the gap between physical practice and conscious eating.

Absolutely not. Our events welcome people of every experience level, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Our instructors offer modifications for each pose, and the atmosphere is supportive rather than competitive. Many of our most loyal members joined without ever having stepped on a yoga mat before. We provide all equipment including mats, blocks, and straps, so all you need to bring is yourself and an open mind.

Our menus are plant-forward, meaning the majority of dishes are built around vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and fruits. While many of our meals are entirely vegan, some events may incorporate ethically sourced dairy, honey, or other ingredients depending on the theme. We always clearly label every dish and accommodate dietary restrictions including gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free upon advance request. Just let us know your needs when you register and our chef will ensure you are fully taken care of.

Our standard community events host between 20 and 40 guests and take place at our studio space in Los Angeles, as well as rotating partner venues including rooftop gardens, beachside pavilions, and private estates throughout the greater LA area. Private events can be customized for groups as small as 8 or as large as 100 guests. We also offer on-location services where we bring our instructors and kitchen team directly to your home, office, or chosen venue.

We provide yoga mats, props, and all dining essentials, so there is nothing you strictly need to bring. Simply wear comfortable clothing you can move in freely. We recommend arriving about 15 minutes early so you have time to check in, settle onto your mat, and transition into a more relaxed headspace before the session begins. If you have a personal yoga mat you prefer using, you are welcome to bring it. A reusable water bottle is also a nice thing to have on hand.

We regularly host birthday celebrations, bridal showers, anniversary dinners, baby blessings, team-building retreats, and milestone gatherings of all kinds. Each private event is fully customized with a tailored yoga flow matched to your group's skill level, a bespoke multi-course menu designed around your preferences and dietary needs, and personalized touches like custom place cards, curated playlists, and floral arrangements.
